That Boutique-y Whisky Company Helsinki Rye Whisky is the first batch from The Helsinki Distilling Company is a 2 Year Old Rye, fully matured in a first fill, Ex-Oloroso sherry cask. It’s a release of just 240 bottles at 47.3% ABV.

The Helsinki Distilling Co was founded by three friends, in the most Finnish of settings - a sauna.

The BWC label shows one of the owners Mikko, who’s also an amateur film actor, on set at the distillery. Sales of alcohol in Finland are controlled by the national beverage monopoly Alko, represented on the label as a monopoly car.

Tastign notes.

Nose: Prune juice, stewed raisins and sultanas, dark cherries, victoria plum jam.

Taste: A wisp of sea air, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves.
